In our interview, we explore how he found his way to Pro-Sharp, the challenges he faces in his daily work, and how he sees the power of teamwork in overcoming technological obstacles. We also discover what path he would have taken if he weren't working in the IT world and why he's so fascinated by maximizing human performance.
What is your exact role at Pro-Sharp, and how did you get here? What projects are you working on now, and what is the best part of your daily work?
I’ve been strengthening the Pro-Sharp team as a Development Manager for four years now. Those who know me are aware that I usually move on every two years, so the fact that I’ve been here for four speaks for itself. Simply put, I don't want to be anywhere else. It all started when Ricardo, our CEO, reached out to me with an opportunity. Our conversations were so engaging that I said yes almost immediately. It was an added bonus that several former colleagues were already working here, so I arrived into a familiar environment but faced entirely new and exciting challenges.
Currently, I lead the Duplex Sync project, which is a massive undertaking for everyone involved! With a team of ten, we are working on software that operates data pools storing product information. What recharges me every day is the team's energy. It’s fantastic to see how motivated everyone is, constantly pushing not just the project but the entire company forward with innovative ideas. I’ve wanted a cohesive, professional team like this for a long time. It’s inspiring to work with them and see everyone putting their heart and soul into our shared successes, which we then celebrate together. I’m grateful because I have a team I can truly count on for everything.
What technology challenge or project has been the most interesting so far? What did you learn from it?
Right now, the most exciting challenge is definitely maximizing the potential offered by Artificial Intelligence. We have modern tools at our disposal like GitHub Copilot and Gemini, which accelerate our daily work to an incredible degree. We are currently working on completely "outsourcing" one of our most repetitive development tasks to AI. In practice, we are implementing a "Junior Developer" AI that assists us with smaller development tasks, testing, and even prepares pull requests. Additionally, we are actively exploring new AI-based application generation solutions so that we can deliver future projects as quickly as possible, with the highest quality and the most competitive offer. It’s an incredibly exciting time!
If you weren't doing this job, what would you be doing? Do you have a hobby or passion outside of work?
That’s an easy one: I’d be a psychologist. I recently finished my BA in Psychology, and I plan to start my MA within a year. My big dream is clinical psychology, where I could help people within a therapeutic framework.
Beyond my professional interests, there’s a completely different world that recharges me: music. I’m a drummer in a metal band. Although it’s sometimes hard to find the time alongside work, we get together with the guys once a week to write music and make some noise. There’s still a long way to go before we hit the stage, but who knows—maybe we’ll get there one day! 🤘
